The magic date character interactions will return to Disneyland is April 18! This is only a week away. Since 2020, guests visiting the Happiest Place on Earth have been limited to seeing their favorite characters from a distance. Starting next week, guests will be able to get autographs, hugs, and get up close and personal to Mickey and friends.
Expect long lines to return. There has been talk of Disneyland adding a potential Lightning Lane to the more popular characters, but for the most part, I don’t expect anything to materialize for at least a few weeks.
A Few Tips
As a friendly reminder…Disney Parks do sell autograph books for guests, but you are also allowed to bring your own. You will also be expected to buy a pen, or provide your own. If you are looking to have a t-shirt or another type of item signed, characters will usually only sign an item if it is flat. Though when I assisted Goofy, he was able to sign a basketball. That had to receive special permission, of course.
Characters locations (for the most part) will be listed on the Disneyland Parks map. Some characters, such as Peter Pan, roam free, but typically will reside in Fantasyland.
If you are looking to have your photo taken, you have hand your phone or camera to any character host or attendant working with the character if a Photopass Cast Member is not available. It is completely free to have a Photopass photo taken. You will only pay for the download or print unless you decide to purchase it. You are always able to view it first, though.
Please ensure you always have a the Photopass card you are given linked to your Disney Experience account, or at least have a picture of the barcode. If you loose the card, it is extremely difficult to find or replace the photos that were on there was a code number.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask and I will be more than happy to answer them.
