Last week was the official opening to reservations for Star War Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and from everything I’ve heard, it was a little bit of a mess. If you had your Disney account set up and ready to go, people were placed into a virtual queue right as it hit 10 am Pacific Time, however, I heard that people on mobile phones were not placed in queues and were able to take reservation spots quickly.
Guests tried to call the Star Wars reservation line, but were understandably placed on hold for longer than normal wait times. Reservations were apparently full by about 12 p.m. As of right now, they are full to the general public, but you will need a Disneyland Resort Hotel reservation between May 31 and June 23. After June 24, the plan is for the land to be open to the public without reservations.
Reservation Information
In case reservations open again, you should know that the slots for Star Wars Galaxy Edge opened in 4 hour increments. You were able to book for up to I believe 6 guests at a time, and needed to have all of the names for members of your party available and typed into your reservation to procure a time.
Reservations were only able to be made once per Disney account for 1 day between May 31 and June 23. You will need to have the code for your reservation available in order to be admitted into the land with valid IDs in order to enjoy the experience. You will not be allowed into the land after your allotted 4 hours are up. I woult not be surprised to see a wrist band in use for every allotment group admitted.
All guests in your party must have valid theme park admission in order to enter the park. If capacity for the land is reached, you may not be admitted. If you do not have a reservation, don’t bother trying to get in between now and June 24. Try after, but at your own risk.
I have been informed that if you have a hotel reservation, you are supposed to receive a special e-mail letting you know how to make reservation to the land between this time. My advice there is to take whatever slots you can get and work around it if you are lucky. I’ll post again when I receive another update.
